Stellar secures licensing deal with Sony Music

August 30, 2016 – Stellar Entertainment has signed a global licensing deal with Sony Music Entertainment, which will give the company access to Sony Music’s extensive library of artists, past and present, current and emerging.

According to Stellar Entertainment, it was the world’s first Content Service Provider for inflight entertainment and its roots are firmly entrenched in audio and music, “We’ve long had close relationships with stakeholders in the Australian music industry and are now pleased that we’re expanding those relationships globally”, stated Stellar founder and chairman, Rob Lynch.

Stellar can tap Sony Music Entertainment’s vast catalog of recordings from leading labels including Columbia, Epic, RCA, Masterworks and Legacy for its airline clients.

“We are happy to be making our content available through Stellar Entertainment’s inflight entertainment network,” said Mark Piibe, EVP, global business development and digital strategy, Sony Music Entertainment. “Our global agreement gives airline travelers in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world serviced by Stellar access to songs from across our massive catalog of current hits and all-time favorites.”
