Ultra-fast USB-PD charging port launched

True Blue Power, a developer and supplier of certified USB power products for the aerospace industry, has launched the TA360 Series USB-PD charging port, its newest ultra-fast charger. Designed to power new and future electronic devices, USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) technology is used to provide 60 watts of power per port.

USB-PD fast-charging technology provides a claimed four-times more power than many USB-A and USB-C chargers. USB-PD charging ports offer intelligent voltage output, allowing each specific device to receive the maximum level of power possible. The latest PD-compatible smartphones, tablets, electronic flight bags (EFB) and laptop computers benefit from variable power output, with the ultra-fast charger delivering 5–20V at 3AA, providing up to 60W of power per PD port, and is available in three primary configurations.

While PD-compatible electronics benefit most from this new technology, the TA360 Series also supports USB-A and USB-C devices.

“Adding this advanced USB-PD technology to our product line ensures pilots, passengers and crew have access to cutting-edge, in-flight USB power now and well into the future,” said Erik Ritzman, director of True Blue Power. “The TA360 series future-proofs aircraft for years to come.”

The TSO-certified TA360 Series can be installed in-seat, cabin, cockpit and galley, and protects itself and the connnected electronic device from short circuits, power surges, overload and over temperature. True Blue Power USB-PD chargers are a drop-in replacement for the company’s TA102 and TA202 Series chargers.
