Scottish Leather is officially green

Scottish Leather Group is celebrating winning the Environmental Award at the Energy Institute Awards 2014, sponsored by the UK’s Environment Agency. Collecting the award on behalf of Scottish Leather Group, Dr Warren Bowden, group environmental director, commented: “We are immensely proud of our environmental credentials and innovations in manufacturing leather sustainably, and are absolutely delighted to receive this award from such an esteemed panel of judges.”

Scottish Leather Group secured the award for its low carbon leather against some stiff competition including Sindicatum Sustainable Resources for its RenewCo projects, SWRP for the Subsea Well Response project and Vital Efficienci for energy savings and ISO 50001 certification at Cancer Research UK’s research laboratory.
