Transport Canada awards Skandia STC for acoustic kit

Skandia has received Transport Canada (TCCA) STC approval for its acoustic soundproofing kit for the Bombardier Global line of large cabin business jets. This news follows the company receiving FAA STC approval for the kit in late 2020, and EASA approval in March 2021.

Skandia engineered and tested the soundproofing kit for the Global aircraft in 2020, and claims it reduces overall dB(SIL) levels “significantly”, with minimal net weight penalty. The kit is available to operators, with soundproofing material options including chin fairing damping, baggage damping, floor damping, thermal acoustic insulation bags, overframe blankets and Aerolite carpet pads. The Global kit is provided with installation schematics and instructions for a straightforward installation process on the Global 5000 & 6000 Express models.
