Spatial, a Dubai-based cabin crew training simulator manufacturer, has been commissioned by Flywings Simulator Training Centre (FWSTC), one of India’s major providers of crew training services, to supply an A321 mid-cabin exit trainer. The mid-cabin simulator will incorporate a Type C door and A321NX ACF overwing exit, which can be used for training cabin crew in the safe operation of the doors in all normal and potential emergency situations.

According to Spatial, the simulator will feature an Instructor Operator Station (IOS), which can be used to create malfunction scenarios, including power-assist failures, handle and door jams, and slide auto-inflation failures. The trainer will include door visual simulations, passenger service units and drop-down oxygen masks.

Vikas Khanna, head of operations at FWSTC stated, “This is the first A321 mid-cabin door training device in India and complements FWSTC’s existing two A320 trainers, including an A320 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer manufactured by Spatial. With the A321 fleet rapidly increasing its footprint in the global aviation market we anticipate an increase in demand for A321 cabin safety door training in the near future.”
