Singapore Changi airport is putting more pressure on the onboard passenger experience with Jewel, a S$1.7bn (US$1.2bn) multi-dimensional aviation-lifestyle destination. The 10-storey, 137,000 square meter glass and steel facade will be directly connected to Changi Airport’s Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
The development, opening in phases from April 2019, will feature a lush, four-storey Forest Valley containing thousands of trees and plants, making it one of the largest indoor collections of plants in Singapore. The 40m-high Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, will take center stage in the complex, surrounded by more than 280 retail stores and eateries, as well as Jewel’s own 130-room hotel, the YOTELAIR.
