Design and Science Lab’s autonomous seat: part two

0

This second video demonstration of Design and Science Lab’s Covid-safe aircraft seat concept shows the process of boarding and pre-boarding through an autonomous seat guidance system, from the entrance of the airport to the aircraft cabin. The aircraft seats are not integrated into the aircraft – instead they load themselves into the cabin, powered by automatically guided vehicles.

The passengers check themselves in by sitting in the seat at the airport entrance. From there on the system takes over and automatically drives the seated passenger through all the necessary steps, such as security control, to board the plane.

Τhe system ensures the safe and timely transport of the passenger, with each seat’s position tracked as the passenger navigates the airport, so an expected time of arrival in the aircraft cabin can be monitored at all times.
