TIMCO lab gains FAA certification for flammability tests

TIMCO Aerosystems has received FAA certification for flammability testing conducted at its product testing laboratory, located at its Wallburg, North Carolina aircraft interiors facility. With this certification in place, TIMCO plans to perform vertical and horizontal burn testing to validate compliance with all FAA flammability standards for customer products such as aircraft seats.

In addition to flammability testing, TIMCO is also certified to perform static testing and dynamic testing on a fully configured test sled. TIMCO has designated engineering representatives (DER) on staff to witness all FAA-regulated tests and to provide consultation on general product testing issues.

Rick Salanitri, president of TIMCO Aerosystems stated, “This is another important step in our commitment to offer a complete range of services to our aircraft seat and interiors products customers. This robust, fully-certified lab will enable us to meet increasingly complex product requirements on ever-tighter delivery timelines.”
