Delta’s regional passenger experience set to improve

0

May 6, 2016 – There have been developments in Delta’s regional aircraft fleet refresh strategy. The first announcement by the airline is that it has placed an order for 75 Bombardier CS100 narrow-body aircraft, which will make it the US launch customer for the aircraft. Secondly, Delta has placed an order for an additional Airbus A321s, taking its A321 fleet to 82 aircraft.

The A321s form part of Delta’s fleet strategy to replace 20% of its mainline narrow-body fleet over the next five years, deliveries of the new aircraft to occur concurrently with existing A321 orders through 2019 and the retirement of its 116 MD-88 aircraft.

The A321s will feature an all-new interior with cabin elements including high-capacity overhead bins, the latest IFE systems, full spectrum LED ambient lighting, standard 110v power available at every row, as well as in-flight wi-fi.
