Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) and Latécoère Interconnection Systems (LIS) have signed a partnership agreement to develop ‘The ACJ Smart LiFi Monitor’. The partners say this is a unique IFE technology, which will available as a retrofit and cabin outfitting option before the end of the year.

LiFi (light fidelity) is a wireless communication technology which uses light to transmit data. With this agreement, ACJ is aiming to become the only aircraft manufacturer to offer this next-generation communication systems technology on-board a corporate aircraft.

The plug-and-play technology includes a smart 4K monitor, with wi-fi, Bluetooth and LiFi connectivity, with available connections including analogue audio output, USBc ports and HDMI. Features include AVOD (audio video on demand), casting, mirroring, a web browser, live TV and integrated video conferencing capability.
