IFEC provider, Anuvu (rebranded from Global Eagle in May 2021), has announced a second long-term IFE partnership with Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The five-year agreement will provide Gulf Air with a bespoke content strategy, including access to Hollywood, Arabic, Bollywood, international new and classic movies, as well as trending audio albums and the latest digital games.

Captain Waleed Al Alawi, acting CEO of Gulf Air stated, “Anuvu has supported Gulf Air since 2018 and we have already seen the positive outcome of our strategic relationship. The content strategy based on data analytics and personalised experiences has been instrumental to our success. As we prepare for the post-Covid-19 era, we want our guests to have the best content selection onboard and be entertained with premium media.”

Captain Al Alawi believes that the partnership played a role in upgrading the airline’s passenger experience, which resulted in the award of 4-star major airline status by APEX (the Airline Passenger Experience Association) in 2019, and 5-star major airline status in 2020.
