July 3, 2017 – IMG has won the global inflight and inship live media rights for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 and the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017, including highlights from all three tournaments.

As a result of this deal there will be coverage on the IMG-owned and operated 24/7 live sports channels – Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra – which will show the live action broadcast and highlights from all three tournaments as part of the exclusive match world-feed package.

Richard Wise, SVP for content and channels at IMG Media said, “All three FIFA tournaments will be broadcast to the widest-ever inflight and inship audience through this historic deal. The FIFA World Cup in Russia will be the most watched sporting event of the year, and we are delighted that inflight & inship viewers will be able to see live coverage of every match and highlights too, as well as the culmination to this year’s FIFA Confederations Cup and the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019.”

“The remaining matches of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, as well as the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019, will be exciting celebrations of football that no fan should miss out on, whether they’re on land, in the air or at sea,” added FIFA’s chief commercial officer, Philippe Le Floc’h.
