Indonesia’s flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia, has opted to fit Thales Avant IFE Systems on board its 14 A330neos, deliveries of which begin in 2019. The systems will feature lightweight High Definition (HD) monitors throughout the aircraft, while business class will also be fitted with Avii touchscreen handsets, Android-based controllers that look similar to smartphones.

The IFE system is based on an open Android platform, and will support multiple languages and host applications such as Interactive 3D Map and e-reader. The Avii handset is a second-screen application platform that enables passengers to select, control and enhance their multimedia experience.
