April 5, 2016 – Thales has announced a deal to equip Hainan Airlines’ future fleet of A330s with its Android-based AVANT IFE system, with the first aircraft expected to enter service in late 2017.

The fleet will be equipped with the latest AVANT full HD monitors, claimed by Thales to be the most lightweight ever deployed, featuring high-power USB charging for personal electronic devices.

Hainan Airlines already operates Thales IFE systems on both Boeing and Airbus aircraft. As part of this commitment to carriers in the region, Thales is investing resources in China to further enhance software and media capabilities and satisfy local market demands.
