Satcom Direct launches live TV streaming platform

November 1, 2016 – Satcom Direct (SD) has launched SD Live: a platform for streaming live television in flight worldwide. Passengers can stream live television via their own personal electronic devices or the cabin entertainment system without adding additional hardware, STCs or antennas.

SD says the new service uses the highest speed broadband and ATG services available for business aviation, delivering both standard- and high-definition real-time television programming. News, financial programs and live sporting events are available 24/7, wherever the aircraft is flying. Multiple devices may be used simultaneously to stream live TV, and no equipment installation is required. SD Live operates on the ground and in the air for those with broadband network coverage. A mobile app is available for the iOS operating system.
