At APEX Expo the team at Panasonic Avionics have been demonstrating their latest IFEC technologies, and celebrating their agreement with Singapore Airlines (SIA) to provide IFEC systems across the airline’s widebody and narrowbody fleets.

SIA has selected Panasonic’s eX1 IFE systems for its new fleet of 37 Boeing 737-8 aircraft, with full-HD touch screen monitors in both business class and economy, as well as USB charging ports. Each business class seat will also be equipped with a handset and additional in-seat power outlets.

SIA has also selected global inflight connectivity services from Panasonic Avionics, with a global network of high-speed, high-bandwidth satellites that can deliver average speeds up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) to the aircraft, with peak speeds reaching 200Mbps and higher. The airline has also opted for the Arc immersive 3D inflight map platform: the first use of Panasonic Avionics’ Arc map platform on the B737-8.
