April 26, 2016 – SmartLynx Airlines Estonia has selected Eirtech Aviation, an Ireland-based engineering and technical services company, to supply passenger USB power systems in its fleet of nine Airbus A320s.

The USB charging system has been developed for retrofit, requiring no permanent physical modification of the seats (for SmartLynx the ports have been installed in the armrests). It weighs less than 1 lb per three-seat configuration, with one USB outlet per passenger.
