Turkish success for SKYFE IFE

Embedded computing technology (ECT) and IFEC avionics supplier, Kontron, has announced that Turkey-based MRO provider Turkish Technic will deploy its integrated, application-ready platforms as part of a new program with Turkish Airlines.

Turkish Airlines has selected the SKYFE wireless IFE system, developed jointly by software provider Havelsan and Turkish Technic, for deployment on its narrow-body fleet. SKYFE allows passengers to download applications from Google Play and the Apple Store to their own smart devices during preflight and to access content wirelessly during a flight.

Kontron will provide the hardware products necessary to implement the cabin wi-fi network in the SKYFE system, including the ACE flight server and the Cab-n-Connect wireless access point.
