W-IFE launch marks Jet Airways’ first step to full connectivity

September 7, 2016 – Indian carrier, Jet Airways, has launched a wireless IFE system that allows guests to stream video and audio content directly on their own devices.

Named JetScreen, the IFE service will be available on domestic flights in India, with available content including over 225 hours of video and audio such as Hollywood and Indian movies, TV shorts, music, interactive games, as well as children’s programs.

The introduction of streaming IFE is the first step in Jet Airways’ plan to eventually transform its IFE experience into a fully fledged, broadband-enabled wi-fi connectivity service (subject to regulatory approvals).

This initiative is in line with the Government of India’s vision to provide enhanced connectivity to citizens and make India digitally empowered.
