From 18 April, airBaltic, a Latvian airline, will allow passengers to use their tablets, book readers, players, games and other personal electronic devices from gate to gate. Under the rules, passengers need to place their electronic devices in airplane mode, mobile phones may not be used for calls, and all devices must be turned off when instructed by crew members.
Martin Gauss, CEO of airBaltic stated, “Our customers have long wanted to be able to read a book, review documents and photos, or watch a movie on their electronic devices whenever they are onboard one of our flights. We are delighted that in the busy Easter travel period our passengers can begin enjoying the use of their electronic devices in all phases of flight.”
