LATAM Airlines Group (LATAM) has entered into a contract with Recaro Aircraft Seating to supply seating for its Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 cabin retrofits, taking place in 2027. LATAM has ordered 41 shipsets of Recaro’s PL3530 long-range premium-economy-class seat, with the first shipset delivery scheduled for the first half of 2027.

The seats will be installed at a 40-inch pitch, and fitted with features including privacy wings, an 8-inch recline mechanism, and Panasonic Astrova seatback in-flight entertainment systems. The seatback IFE will include 16-inch 4K screens, Bluetooth audio pairing, USB-C fast charging, and AC power outlets.

LATAM’s design partner for the project is the PriestmanGoode studio, with branding work by NewTerritory, and cabin branding elements from ABC International.

“Our close collaboration with LATAM will result in a truly unique seat for their Premium Comfort Class passengers,” stated Dr Mark Hiller, CEO of RECARO Aircraft Seating. “The PL3530 model offers premium comfort, elevates privacy to a new level, and will be a standout addition to their fleet and the South American market.”
