Recaro Aircraft Seating (Recaro) has announced that its production of seats for LOT Polish Airlines (LOT) will take place exclusively at its facility in Poland. Recaro will be manufacturing its R3 economy-class seats for LOT’s Boeing 787-8 fleet retrofit programme, and for LOT’s Boeing 737-MAX 8 and regional jet fleets, as announced during the 2025 Paris Air Show.
This domestic seat production programme for LOT aligns with the airline’s commitment to sourcing high-quality, locally produced aviation equipment, and with Recaro’s strategy of ‘in the region for the region’, which refers to the location of manufacturing facilities in key areas around the world.
The R2 seats for LOT’s B737-MAX 8 and regional jet fleet will feature genuine leather dress covers in the airline’s blue brand colour, with the airline’s logo embroidered on a small backrest seam tag. Comfort features for the B737-MAX 8 seats include a 6-way adjustable headrest, a 4-inch recline, comfort cushions, device holders, and Astronics high-power USB-C ports for charging devices.
“Choosing Recaro seats for LOT’s new aircraft is a decision based on passenger comfort, quality, and convenience. Importantly, they are made in Poland. Producing the seats in Świebodzin supports jobs in Poland and is a great example of successful international cooperation with strong local roots,” stated Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.
“This is a proud moment for Recaro as we advance to the next stage of our partnership with LOT Polish Airlines,” added Mark Hiller, CEO of Recaro Aircraft Seating and Recaro Holding. “The ability to produce seating solutions, such as the R2, locally for one of our customers speaks volumes about our commitment to customer satisfaction, aligning with the goals our customer’s purse, and fostering economic growth in the regions we reside in.”

LOT Polish Airlines (LOT) had previously also named Recaro Aircraft Seating as the exclusive seat supplier for its widebody fleet through 2030 – the first widebody project between the companies. This award encompasses eight Boeing 787 aircraft and includes the installation of CL6720 business-class seats, PL3530 premium-economy seats, and CL3810 economy-class seats.
