The CRJ550 cabin (not the GoJet design). Bombardier views this model as the only aircraft in North America that can replace the existing fleet of ageing 50-seaters, a market of more than 700 aircraft

GoJet Airlines, a commuter feeder services that operates under United Express and Delta Connection, has appointed GAL Aerospace to provide new interior components for its Bombardier CRJ550 aircraft. GoJet is launch customer for the CRJ550, and has 50 of the aircraft on order, which will be operated for United Express.

According to GoJet, the interior concept of the CRJ550 will “revolutionize” the customer experience” in the 50-seat regional aircraft marketplace. The aircraft will be a two-class seating configuration, claimed to have more overall legroom than any other 50-seat jet in the USA, along with new amenities such as a beverage and snack station in the first class cabin. GAL Aerospace will also install four closets with with ample room to store carryon bags, meaning customers won’t always need to check their bags.

“The CRJ550 is an exciting development for the industry and we are proud that GoJet has chosen us as a partner for the cabin interior,” said Glen Lynch, president and CEO of GAL Aerospace. “Earning our place on the launch team for this exciting new aircraft program emphasizes the talent of our employees and capability of our company to offer unique cabin solutions for the aircraft interior market.”

GoJet will introduce the first CRJ550 into service in the second half of 2019, with a target to have 25 in service by year end and 50 aircraft in service by summer of 2020.
