GEE game deals bring classics and crazy characters to IFE

Global Eagle Entertainment (GEE) has announced inflight games licensing agreements with two major entertainment brands: Hasbro and Sanrio. GEE’s relationship with Hasbro began in 2004, and the new agreement will extend their deal to offer classic board games such as Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Boggle, Scrabble, Battleship and Guess Who? via IFE systems, and to co-develop new inflight games during 2019 and 2020.

The agreement with Sanrio will add multiple in-flight games across all world markets, tied in with Sanrio’s popular brands of Hello Kitty, Hello Sanrio, Gudetama, Aggretsuko and Sanrio Characters.

“We are proud to bring Hello Kitty and many other Sanrio brands to the skies,” said Per Norén, Global Eagle’s EVP and chief commercial officer. “We have a long history of working closely with game-makers to ensure the final product translates to the seatback arena in look, feel and enjoyment.”
