AVIC Cabin Systems UK (ACS UK) is showing visitors to Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) a special galley concept as a demonstrator of its expertise in the design, engineering and manufacture of customised premium cabin interiors.
The design concept, named Omnia, is being presented as a unified display comprising a pair of complementary units, to show how traditionally crew-focused and shared cabin spaces can deliver premium design, functionality and branding.
At the centre of Omnia is a galley unit with a highly functional layout that includes ACS UK’s patent-pending adaptive worktop, developed to address demand for increased crew working space in the galley. ACS says the adaptive worktop more than doubles the typical usable work surface for crew while reducing maintenance complexity and enabling greater cleanliness. The worktop is complemented with a simplified upper-door mechanism that replaces the traditional roller blind.

The Omnia design also shows how airline branding can be integrated into the bespoke units. For the AIX demonstrator, a cascading illuminated panel with upholstered sections spans the aisle, alongside a welcome panel that combines an edge-lit machined logo with an aerospace-grade natural wood veneer. Omnia is ACS UK’s first project to feature a natural wood veneer.
Both elements are brought to life by the company’s Autonomous Lighting Dimmer (ALD), which allows airlines to control lighting without interfacing directly with the cabin control systems.

Another key element of the Omnia concept is the dual-aspect bar area. The two bar zones, one positioned each side of the aisle, are designed to create a ‘third space’ for passengers to visit during flight. These areas are supported by self-service options for passengers, including an open pantry and a glass-fronted fridge unit.

The outboard unit of Omnia also highlights ACS UK’s expertise in front-row monument (FRM) design, demonstrating how seat-back styling and cabin design language can be seamlessly extended beyond the seating area, even where different certification requirements apply.
Reed Webb, industrial designer at ACS UK, said of the concept, “With Omnia, our objective was to challenge traditional perceptions of cabin monuments as purely functional space-fillers. By applying integrated, whole-cabin thinking from the very start, we’ve shown how galleys and Front Row Monuments can work harder for passengers, crew and airlines alike – becoming intuitive, premium touchpoints designed with clear purpose.
“Omnia demonstrates that a truly distinctive world-class cabin experience is about more than seats alone; it’s about considering every aspect of the journey,” he added.
