Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is preparing to take delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 this October, which will be the first aircraft in its long-haul fleet to be fitted with the new SWISS Senses cabin. The airline has 10 A350-900s on order, which will be assembled at Airbus’s facility in Toulouse, France.
Ahead of that landmark first delivery, the Switzerland-based airline presented the First and Business Class seats for its new cabin concept at a presentation event held in the airline’s operations centre at Zurich Airport. The airline has also stated that the new cabin concept will also be gradually extended to its existing Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft fleets.

New cabin products in every travel class
SWISS Senses represents a total redesign of the airline’s aircraft cabin schemes, with highlights being the introduction of suite-style seating in the First-class cabin and parts of the Business-class cabin. The new cabin design also brings in human-centric lighting, which will help alleviate jet lag, and a new inflight entertainment (IFE) system with larger displays.
The interior, designed in collaboration with the PriestmanGoode studio, makes use of high-quality materials in a calming colour scheme of warm and muted tones such as claret, anthracite and beige.
Inside the SWISS First suites
The closable sliding doors of the SWISS First suites offer a private space within which can be found a spacious personal wardrobe, a large table, a seat heating and cooling system, a wireless charging station, an IFE screen that is as wide as the suite itself – and of course a spacious seat that converts into a flat bed. The centre double suite can also be configured to suit two persons travelling together.
A spacious new lavatory space has also been developed for the first-class cabin. The washroom draws its inspiration from the famous spring in Vals in Canton Graubünden, with a slate-black exterior, and a green interior that alludes to the spring’s fresh and cooling water.

SWISS Business: several options, all with direct aisle access
The SWISS A350 Business cabin is designed to meet a broad range of passenger needs and desires. In addition to Classic business-class seats, the new cabin offers further seating options – for example, the Selected seats can be closed off with a sliding door for additional privacy. Whichever option is chosen, each seat can be converted into a lie-flat bed with a length of 2.0 to 2.2 meters, and all seats also feature seat heating and cooling and a wireless charging station.

Economy and Premium Economy
Economy-class travellers can look forward to enhancements with the A350 SWISS Senses cabin. The comfortable new seats have a construction optimized to create more in-seat space. Every seat also features a more than 13-inch high-resolution IFE screen, a Bluetooth connection to connect headphones, and USB ports.
The popular SWISS Premium Economy Class is a step up from economy, with superior cabin service and a more comfortable seat at a pitch of almost 1m.
Following its delivery, SWISS’s first A350-900 will initially be deployed on European routes. The airline’s first intercontinental service with the long-haul twinjet will be to Boston, beginning this winter. Flights from 1st January 2026 onwards are bookable now.
“As a premium airline, we aim to continue to deliver on our quality promise through our SWISS Senses concept,” said Heike Birlenbach, chief commercial officer at SWISS. “Our new seats are the centrepiece of our new aircraft cabins. But SWISS Senses appeals to all the senses – with its special lighting concept, for instance, and also with our new scent that has been specially created for SWISS. All in all, SWISS Senses represents the biggest product investment in the history of our company – and a further major milestone for Swiss aviation.”
