A closer look at British Airways’ new range of inflight amenities

As well as finding out about British Airways’ (BA’s) new A380 retrofit interior designs at the reveal event in London, Aircraft Interiors International sampled the new soft products that customers will enjoy in every cabin class. Key partner brands include Swaine, Anatomē, Wildsmith, Dr.PAWPAW, and Buzz Products, the travel amenities specialist.

World Traveller

The essentials are covered in the updated World Traveller (economy) cabins, with refreshed cabins, wider seats, larger IFE screens, and bigger headrest wings.

The experience is enhanced with upgraded bedding. The new pillows feature the contemporary herringbone pattern that is applied used throughout the A380 cabins, and have additional filling for added comfort and support.

The blankets are also new, with a plusher finish for added warmth and comfort, and come in British Airways’ signature blue with red Speedmarque detailing.

The World Traveller bedding, as well as the new World Traveller Plus amenity kit and bedding (see below), will be available on all BA long-haul aircraft as a phased introduction throughout November.

World Traveller Plus

Customers travelling in World Traveller Plus (premium economy) will also benefit from new seats with larger IFE screens and privacy wings, as well as the new bedding and pillows.

The herringbone pattern carries through to the World Traveller Plus (premium economy) amenities in a slightly different form

Customers travelling in World Traveller Plus will also receive a new design of amenity kit. They receive a reusable tote bag that can be used at the destination and onwards, with contents including a moisturising balm from Dr.PAWPAW, a family-owned British beauty brand. The bag also contains travel essentials including a dental kit, socks and eye mask.

Club World

Club World customers will also receive the airline’s latest business-class amenity kits, available in four unique travel pouch designs created by British artists (commissioned through the Rise Art platform). The artists are Amelia Coward, Charlotte Roseberry, Kit Boyd and Naomi Edmondson.

British Airways has partnered with Anatomē, a London-based apothecary, and the kits include two of Anatomē’s botanical formulations: a hydrating moisturiser and a restorative multi balm designed to combat cabin dryness.

The BA Club World amenity kit includes a 10ml moisturiser and a 3ml multi balm from Anatomē, produced especially for British Airways, as well as ear plugs, a dental kit, an eye mask and socks. The Anatomē products are in recyclable aluminium packaging, removing around 26.5 tonnes of single use plastic each year. The socks are made from recycled polyester and the dental kits (with bamboo toothbrush) and earplugs are paper wrapped.Photo: Adam Gavine

The pouches may look familiar as similar styles launched on BA’s long-haul flights from London Gatwick Airport in October 2025.

BA First

Customers in BA’s A380 First class will enjoy a luxurious seat that converts into a wide, flat bed. When lounging, guests can relax under a new design of woven day blanket, featuring an elegant herringbone design (the BA team suspect a few blankets may be taken home after the flight). The blanket is complemented by a navy-blue cushion with subtle detailing.

When it’s time to sleep, crew put the seat in bed mode and add a luxury mattress, lightweight cotton duvet and a new design of pillow that offers softness and support.

While the crew prepare the bed, customers can pop to the lavatory to put on the new cool-touch fabric navy sleepwear, trimmed in British Airways’ bespoke tartan pattern. They can also pad around the cabin in the new design of slippers.

There is also a fancy new amenity kit in First. British Airways has partnered with luxury British heritage house, Swaine, to create a bespoke unisex amenity kit inspired by the heritage suitcases carried by early air travellers. Swaine is Great Britain’s oldest luxury brand, established in 1750 as a maker of whips and saddlery.

Today, Swaine includes Swaine & Adeney leather goods (established in 1750), Brigg Umbrellas (established in1836), and Herbert Johnson Hatters (established in 1889). Customers in or visiting London might enjoy a trip to Swaine’s workshop, as Swaine is the only British heritage brand still handcrafting its goods in the heart of Mayfair.

The kit is available in two colours, of royal blue and cream, and contains a selection of skincare products from Wildsmith, a British brand that makes skincare products, formulated to restore balance and support the body’s natural circadian rhythms.

The kit also includes socks and a sleep mask, both with a slightly plusher feel than those in the Club kits. Additional travel essentials, including mouthwash, a comb, a razor kit and pen, are available on request.

The kit includes a Circadian Rhythm collection (bespoke to BA) designed to support hydration and comfort from day into night. The products include a refreshing face mist, a hand & body lotion and a face cream formulated to replenish moisture after overnight water loss, a ceramide multi-balm, a lip balm, a face cream, and an overnight mask. Wildsmith amenities will also be introduced in British Airways’ Concorde Room, and its First and Club (business class) lounges over the coming months.

The First sleepwear and bedding, including the day blanket, as well as the First amenity kit, are available on all outbound long-haul flights from London Heathrow. All First amenities (including the amenity kit) will be introduced on inbound services over the coming months.

BA has also collaborated with Swaine to create a bespoke limited-edition British Airways-branded Oxford holdall. Every piece is made to order and entirely handcrafted in the Swaine workshop in Mayfair. The bag will be available to order from 2nd November. The BA design has not been revealed yet, but you can see an example of the Oxford holdall on the Swaine website.
