Air Canada upgrades its long-haul inflight bedding and amenities

In July Air Canada is introducing a new collection of inflight amenities across every cabin class on international flights, as the latest investment in its Glowing Hearted experience for the end-to-end journey.

The new amenities collection includes upgraded duvets and pillows in Signature Class (business class), blankets in premium economy and economy class, and amenity kits developed in partnership with well-known Canadian brands.

“We’ve spent meaningful time with our customers, getting their perspective on what would make a flight more relaxing and restful. Then we went to work investing in high-quality products that deliver the very best that leading Canadian partners have to offer,” said Jacqueline Harkness, managing director, products & services at Air Canada.

Signature Class amenities, designed in Canada

Air Canada partnered with Canada-based Hunter Amenities to develop, manufacture and source the new Signature Class amenity kits, with a recycled cotton drawstring bag made in Canada that can be reused after the flight.

The kits contain products from Sahajan, a female-founded Canadian skincare company. The Signature Class amenity kits will feature Sahajan’s ‘Lip Karma’ nourishing lip balm with castor and argan oils, and ‘The Hand Remedy’, a fast-absorbing cream that provides a non-greasy barrier for dry hands. Both products are manufactured by Hunter Amenities at its facility in Burlington, Ontario.

The kits also include striped knitted cabin socks made with 70% cotton, a comfortable sleep mask, 3M earplugs with a noise reduction rating 32 decibels, and an antimicrobial bamboo toothbrush with Colgate toothpaste and dental floss.

Signature Class customers are also given a 145 gsm duvet, upgraded over the previous duvet for increased softness, warmth, and comfort. This is complemented by a new pillow design with a 16.5 oz AirFlow fill for breathability and support.

Premium economy amenities

Customers in premium economy class receive a pouch containing a soft neoprene eye mask with a contoured nose bridge, the same 3M earplugs as in the Signature Class kits, a pair of knitted cabin socks, and an antimicrobial bamboo toothbrush with Colgate toothpaste.

Upgraded economy and premium economy bedding

Customers in the economy and premium economy cabins receive a new blanket made from polar fleece. At six feet, the blanket can provide full-body coverage for customers of all heights.
