FlightPath3D, a developer of maps and destination content for inflight entertainment (IFE) systems, has released Destination Stories, a new way for passengers to plan activities for their trip.
Destination Stories introduces passengers to highlights of their destination via the seatback map. They can choose an interest-based playlist of features such as cultural landmarks and Instagram-worthy hotspots, or select ‘Play All’ to watch a continuous, animated tour of the must-see sights.
Each city in the system features a Destination Board, a homepage that showcases key highlights and attractions. Passengers can also scan a QR code to explore more on their mobile devices, with options planned for the future such as the ability to to book tours, tickets and experiences before landing.

Users receive recommendations provided by Luci, FlightPath3D’s AI-powered travel companion. With a single tap of the screen, they can launch an animated preview that brings each location to life, complete with local tips, highlights, and airline-branded content and partnerships, all within the inflight map.
For airlines, the Destination Board offers a seatback environment in which to embed branded content and targeted offers, turning a city’s page into both a guide and a marketing platform. Campaigns can promote seasonal routes, loyalty perks, or sponsored attractions, while adverts and partner placements can sit naturally alongside the travel storytelling.
Destination Stories is available as an upgrade for airlines currently using FlightPath3D’s Destination Guide.
Destination Stories will make its debut at APEX Global Expo in Long Beach, California this week (9 to 11 September), where FlightPath3D will offer demonstrations to airlines and industry partners.
