Inflight entertainment (IFE) content service provider, Stellar Entertainment, has entered into a multi-year partnership with Parrot Analytics, a specialist in analysing audience demand, to introduce data-driven content intelligence into its self-serve airline portal, through which airlines can select their own IFE content programming in real time.
The deal integrates Parrot Analytics’ Demand360 Enterprise platform into the Stellar IFE Portal (part of the company’s pixL content licencing and ingestion ecosystem), giving airline content teams access to title-level demand data at the point of selection. The aim is to help airlines make faster, more informed IFE content decisions as catalogues grow and budgets tighten. Airline customers can self-select titles based on budget, availability, and regional requirements.
“Airlines are increasingly selecting content in a self-serve environment, where budget decisions are made in real time,” stated Sam Allen, chief executive of Stellar Entertainment. “As that decision moment moves into the interface, we’re supporting programmers’ intuition with objective demand signals.
“By integrating Parrot Analytics’ demand intelligence into our workflow, we’re giving airline teams a trusted metric to make faster, more confident choices while keeping the selection process simple,” he added.
Data at the point of decision
The Demand360 Enterprise platform provides market-level context, including audience demographics, to support both Stellar’s internal content licencing and renewal decisions, and airlines’ day-to-day content curation. Within the portal, insights are presented as a single, actionable demand metric for each title, with full platform access available for deeper analysis.
The integration is also designed to address the industry’s shift away from Hollywood-centric content towards more regionally diverse programming, as airlines expand into new and emerging markets.
