At Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX), Generation Global, a specialist in aircraft seat covers, cushions and interior soft goods, is launching Gencycle+, a circular economy programme for aircraft interiors that is designed to ensure that seat dress covers and cushions are recovered and repurposed at end of life rather than sent to landfill.
The solution targets the waste generated during fleet refurbishments and seat retrofits, offering airlines, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and seating manufacturers an auditable pathway to reduce landfill waste and lower the lifecycle CO₂ impact associated with disposal and replacement.
Generation Global says Gencycle+ integrates into existing supply and maintenance processes without compromising safety, comfort or certification requirements.
“This is a solution the market has not seen before,” said Jared Steyaert, vice president of global sales at Generation Global. “one that addresses sustainability in a measurable, responsible and commercially viable way.”
