Filming in progress for TAS's new brand film

Thompson Aero Seating (TAS), the Northern Ireland-based manufacturer of aircraft seating, has released the latest phase of its brand evolution. Key brand assets are a new brand film and website, with a focus on the company’s staff, its heritage, and its approach to creating premium aircraft seating.

The new assets follow the company’s 2023 ‘Together We Inspire’ marketing campaign, which focused on the personal side of the business, highlighting the key people that bring its seats to market. The materials featured TAS employees alongside imagery inspired by the landscape of Northern Ireland, to express the combination of people, heritage, craftsmanship and engineering that has shaped the company.

TAS is quite a success story, having been founded in 1997 in Northern Ireland by designer and entrepreneur James Thompson, who devised and developed the initial design of the first Vantage fully flat business-class seat in a barn. The company now has impressive production facilities, its own dynamic test facility, and over 21,000 seats flying on more than 600 aircraft. TAS also recently posted strong revenue performance.

The latest phase of the brand strategy sees the new film and website provide a deeper insight into the company, its design philosophy, and its expertise in seating products.

The 2026 film (you can watch it here) has been created to give a sense of connection between the serenity and beauty of the Northern Irish landscape that the staff of TAS enjoy, with the peace and comfort that can be delivered to passengers in TAS seating. The footage captures the craftsmanship involved in creating a seat, from the stitching and upholstery to the precision engineering and structure building, while again highlighting the skills of TAS staff.

The TAS website has also been redesigned with updated imagery, improved navigation, more product details, and more content relating to the company’s heritage, people, design philosophy, craftsmanship, and approach to sustainability.

“Our brand has evolved significantly over the years, but the foundations of TAS remain the same: our people, our engineering expertise and our Northern Ireland heritage,” said Becca Shou, head of marketing at Thompson Aero Seating. “We are proud to be a global business working with leading airlines around the world, while remaining firmly connected to the place and people that have helped shape who we are. This new film and website give us an opportunity to share that story and bring our brand to life for our customers and strategic partners.”
