Edelweiss, the Switzerland-based leisure airline that is part of the Lufthansa Group, has revealed the retrofit cabin upgrade schemes for its Airbus A350s, for introduction in late 2026. The airline’s newly developed long-haul travel experience has been designed under the theme of ‘More room to feel good’, with new seating, a modern cabin design with a calming colour scheme, and updated technology.
The A350s (there are four in the Edelweiss fleet, with two more expected to be added by the end of 2026) also receive a new livery, featuring the brand’s red wave pattern finished in darker shades of red and blue, which are reflected in the cabin interior scheme. The colour scheme is muted compared with the airline’s previous cabin choices with the aim of creating a greater sense of calm.
Edelweiss Business
The airline has introduced a new business-class product in the A350, with fully flat beds in a 1-2-1 seating configuration for direct aisle access. Approximately half of the 28 Edelweiss Business seats in the cabin are designed as double seats suitable for couples travelling together.
The seating platform is Thompson Aero Seating’s (TAS) VantageXL+, the newest iteration of the VantageXL seat, optimised for the A350 fuselage. Edelweiss is the first European carrier to fly with this A350-specific seat.
TAS has adapted the VantageXL+ to optimise customer living space in the A350 cabin through modifications including expanded footwells and re-sculpted internal walls to provide greater legroom and increased knee clearance.
TAS has also refined the suite top rails with a newly contoured profile for enhanced personal living space, and adjusted the position of the 17.3in IFE monitor to increase the viewing distance. Edelweiss also selected side shields for privacy from the aisle.
Edelweiss Business Suites
The business-class cabin also brings in a new flagship product: the Edelweiss Business Suite, with fully flat beds, 1.2m-high privacy doors, and 32-inch IFE monitors. The four private suites are enabled by the enhanced front-row option of the TAS seat, named VantageXL+ First, which enables a business-plus/first-class experience with no loss of cabin seat count.
The suites also have a larger open foot area for increased freedom of movement when lying down, and additional storage space for personal hand luggage. Suite customers will also enjoy memory foam pillows and a mattress topper.

Edelweiss Premium Economy
The new A350 cabins also enable Edelweiss to increase the proportion of premium seats on board. The new Edelweiss Premium Economy cabin has 28 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration, with approximately 1m of legroom and a hard-shell seat, similar to those used on other Lufthansa Group airlines. A darker colour scheme has been introduced in the cabin for a premium feel.
The Premium Economy experience also includes a welcome drink before takeoff, an expanded food selection (served on chinaware on a tablecloth), free alcoholic beverages, and the same noise-cancelling headphones offered in business class.

Edelweiss Economy
There is also good news for economy passengers, as the new A350 cabins will offer ar0ound 3cm more legroom compared to the previous cabin, as well as a greater recline angle.

So when can you book the new Edelweiss A350 experience?
The first A350 aircraft with the new cabin will enter service in December 2026. Flights will be bookable from summer 2026. Further converted A350s will follow gradually in January, February, April, May, and July 2027. By summer 2027, Edelweiss’s entire Airbus A350 fleet will be equipped with the new cabins.
