Emirates is launching the world’s first premium-economy seat to feature a full-height, electrically powered adjustable privacy screen. The new seat will debut on the airline’s newly received Airbus A350 aircraft, with the 28-seat Premium Economy cabin having a 2-3-2 configuration.
Customers can raise (or lower) the divider between the seats at the touch of a button using the integrated passenger control unit (PCU). When raised, the screen can be locked into position to create a more private environment.
The adjustable privacy screen forms part of the feature seat of Emirates’ first fully electrically powered premium-economy seat, in which the integrated PCU can also be used to adjust the seating position and access pre-configured settings such as lounge mode and meal mode. The A350 seat is 20 inches wide, with a seat pitch of up to 39 inches.
Comfort is further enhanced by a manually deployable footrest and Emirates’ new U-Dream eight-way headrest by Safran Seats. This adjustable wings of this leather-trimmed headrest provide a wide range of neck and head support.

Inflight entertainment
The new seat also brings in wireless devices charging for the first time in an Emirates Premium Economy cabin, complemented by USB-C charging and a tray table with an integrated phone holder.
Customers can also enjoy Emirates’ ‘ice’ inflight entertainment system on a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen. On the airline’s newly delivered A350 aircraft, passengers can also access enhanced aircraft camera views, with new left and right exterior perspectives joining the existing forward and downward cameras.
Inflight dining
Emirates’ Premium Economy customers can also enjoy gourmet, regionally inspired menus prepared by Emirates’ chefs and served on Royal Doulton fine china with linen napkins and stainless-steel Robert Welch cutlery. Meals are accompanied by a selection of premium beverages, including Chandon Vintage Brut 2021, an Australian sparkling wine available exclusively to Emirates Premium Economy customers.
From September, customers travelling on select routes are also offered Chablis Premier Cru Jean-Marc Brocard 2024, a wine which showcases the purity and mineral precision of one of Burgundy’s most celebrated Chardonnay producers, or La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2014, a refined option from one of Bordeaux’s most respected Pessac-Léognan estates.
October will also mark a first for Emirates, as Wiston Estate Brut NV becomes the airline’s first English sparkling wine, served exclusively in Premium Economy on UK routes. Emirates has invested more than US$1 billion in its wine portfolio since 2006.

Inflight amenities
On long-haul flights in Premium Economy, customers also receive exclusive reusable amenity kits designed in partnership with United for Wildlife. Crafted using bio-based materials including cactus leather alternatives, the collectible bags highlight endangered wildlife across four natural habitats and contain premium plant-powered skincare products from Aveda. Each kit also includes travel essentials such as socks, eyeshades, earplugs and a dental kit, with sustainable materials incorporated throughout the collection.
