FACC has opened an extension of its manufacturing plant for aircraft cabin interiors components in Jakovlje, Croatia, which represents a EUR 36 million investment.
FACC says this expansion of its international manufacturing network will give it greater manufacturing capacity to help meet the strong growth expected in the aviation industry in the coming years.
According to the company, the international aviation industry is preparing for significantly higher production rates, with18,700 firm aircraft orders in place, and a near doubling of the global fleet expected from 23,210 to 45,550 aircraft by 2045.
As a partner to all major aircraft manufacturers, FACC is therefore continuing to expand its production capacity. The plant expansion triples the production area at the Jakovlje site, which now has more than 500 employees, making it FACC’s largest production site outside of its base in Austria.
“In 2022, we announced that we would significantly expand our production area and capacity at our site in Croatia and grow our workforce from 160 to over 500 employees. We’ve delivered, and we’re far from done,” stated Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC, during the opening ceremony at Jakovlje.

New technologies for cabin manufacturing
The Jakovlje site already features a fully automated paint shop, and a press production facility for composite components will soon follow. The expansion of the site also strengthens its role within FACC’s international manufacturing network, positioning it as a Centre of Excellence for the global production of high-end aircraft cabin interiors.
EUR 350 million for further growth
FACC projects that, by 2030, it will have invested approximately EUR 350 million in new technologies and the expansion of its global locations. This will enable higher production rates for existing programmes and new customer projects, and will also increase efficiency throughout the company.
This strategy is also being pursued through a plant expansion in St. Martin, Upper Austria, which will double its capacity for structural components.
