Lufthansa Systems' first wireless solution, BoardConnect, enabled passengers to access onboard entertainment on their own devices for the first time

Lufthansa Systems today announced the official establishment of a new subsidiary, Lufthansa Systems India, headquartered in Bengaluru. Lufthansa Systems India will serve as a key part of the Global Capability Center (GCC), developed by Lufthansa Systems in collaboration with Infosys, the Indian IT company. The GCC will leverage technologies, including AI-driven innovations, to accelerate software and product development for both Lufthansa Group and its external airline customers.

“With Lufthansa Systems India, we are laying the groundwork for future-ready IT services that combine agility, innovation, and deep aviation expertise. Bengaluru’s dynamic tech ecosystem offers the ideal environment to grow our capabilities and attract top talent,” said Luigi Celmi, managing director of Lufthansa Systems India.

With the addition of Lufthansa Systems India, the company now operates in 19 locations, including major hubs in Gdańsk and Budapest, with a global workforce of around 3,100 employees.

“The launch of Lufthansa Systems India is a key step in our global strategy to build a resilient and diversified delivery model. It reflects our commitment to excellence and innovation in aviation IT. We are excited to deepen our partnership with Infosys and expand our impact across the industry,” added Stefanie Neumann, CEO of Lufthansa Systems.

The establishment of the new location in India marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Lufthansa Systems’ journey toward a smarter, more connected future in aviation technology.
