Scottish Leather Group, the parent company of Muirhead, a supplier of low-carbon aviation leathers, has acquired Aerotech Systems Limited as part of its strategy to be a vertically integrated, end-to-end supplier to the aircraft cabin interiors sector.
Aerotech Systems, based in Manchester, England, a certification and production specialist with UK-CAA Part 21G Production Organisation Approval (POA), will add further in-house capabilities to Scottish Leather Group. This acquisition is intended to allow Muirhead to streamline the delivery of fully certified aircraft interior components, which can reduce lead times for airline and OEM customers.
The deal means that Muirhead can now control every stage of its processes, from 100% traceable raw hides to final certified seat cover production and assembly.
“This is a pivotal milestone for the business as we continue to push the boundaries of aviation interiors,” said Stephen Ritchie, sales director for aviation at Muirhead. “By bringing Part 21G approval alongside our product offerings, we can certify and deliver compliant aircraft interior components directly to our customers, providing assurance, flexibility, and a shorter route to market.”
