ZIM sells ART to focus on core aircraft seating business

ZIM will focus on growth in core products, such as its ZP range of premium aircraft seating

ZIM Aircraft Seating Group, a designer and manufacturer of passenger seats, has confirmed the successful completion of its sale of its Aircraft Reconfiguration Technologies (ART) business to AAR Corp, a provider of aircraft maintenance services. ART is an engineering company specialising in passenger aircraft reconfiguration work for airlines.

According to ZIM, the divestiture of ART is an important step in its strategy to focus exclusively on its core seating business, spanning models for premium economy, business class, and economy class, and to accelerate growth across its seating platforms.

“This divestiture allows us to simplify our structure and concentrate fully on what we do best: designing and manufacturing world‑class seating solutions,” stated Yvonne McConachie, co‑CEO and president of ZIM Americas. “This sharper focus enhances our operational agility, supports faster delivery cycles, and enables our teams to drive greater value for our airline and OEM customers.”
