A passenger comfort collaboration between the Tangerine design studio and Buzz, an amenities specialist, has been recognised in global design awards. The Tangerine x Buzz Airline Soft Product Collection has been awarded both the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2026 ‘Best of the Best’ distinction and the 2026 Good Design Award in the Concept Design category.
The collection is also shortlisted for the Dezeen Awards 2026, the winners of which will be announced in November.
“Comfort on a long-haul flight doesn’t come from the seat alone. It comes from how the seat and everything around it work together,” said Geraint Edwards, chief growth officer at Tangerine. “Partnering with Buzz let us design across both, and this recognition shows how much there is to gain when cabin and product designers work as one. We’re excited about what comes next.”
The cross-disciplinary collaboration combines Tangerine’s skills in aircraft cabin experience design with Buzz’s expertise in onboard products to rethink four familiar inflight products with a focus on ergonomics, adaptability, and passenger wellbeing. Designed to work together as a connected comfort system, the collection tackles the challenges of resting in a seated position, while giving airlines a new way to differentiate their Premium Economy offer.

A four-piece comfort collection
There are four main elements in the Tangerine x Buzz Airline Soft Product Collection:
A cocooning blanket
This shaped blanket with cloud-inspired pinsonic detailing wraps naturally around the body to help achieve rest.
A sensory shut-out eye mask with integrated earbuds
The padded eye mask has sound-reducing earbuds built into its straps for easy access. The buds can also be removed and used independently.
An adjustable flat-roll neck pillow
The low-volume, ergonomic pillow can be shaped into multiple supportive forms for better alignment than traditional U-shaped pillows.
A foldout lumbar cushion
This flexible cushion provides lower back and lateral support, helping achieve comfort in shifting postures during long flights.
Sam Blank, director of innovation and product strategy at Buzz, said: “Passengers expect more, but the products that help them sleep have barely changed in decades. We set this brief to challenge that. Winning Red Dot’s ‘Best of the Best’ tells us the industry is ready for a new conversation about inflight comfort, and we want to lead it.”
