GAT and UUDS Aero will work together to open an Integrated Cabin Excellence Centre at GAT's facility in Hyderabad, India

GMR Aero Technic (GAT), an aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider in India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UUDS Aero, a France-based aviation and aerospace company with EASA Part 21J Design Organisation Approval (DOA) and Part 21G Production Organisation Approval (POA), to develop advanced aircraft cabin interiors capabilities in India.

Under the terms of the MoU, GAT and UUDS Aero will work together to open an Integrated Cabin Excellence Centre at GAT’s facility in Hyderabad, India. Work at the centre will focus on the design, modification, certification, repair, retrofit, refurbishment, manufacturing, and installation of aircraft cabin interiors.

The partnership combines UUDS Aero’s expertise in cabin interior design, engineering, certification, and production with GAT’s MRO infrastructure and operational capabilities. The initiative is intended to support airlines and aircraft operators with a broad range of cabin interior solutions.

“Our collaboration with UUDS Aero is an important milestone in strengthening our aircraft cabin interior capabilities,” stated Ashok Gopinath, president at GMR Aero Technic. “By combining UUDS Aero’s design and certification expertise with GMR Aero Technic’s proven MRO capabilities, we aim to deliver high-quality, integrated cabin solutions to customers across India and international markets.”

Ashane Gunaratne, group CTO at GAT added that “This strategic partnership reflects UUDS Aero’s long-term commitment to the Indian aviation market and brings together complementary technical strengths in cabin design, engineering, certification, manufacturing and MRO. Together, we aim to develop innovative, end-to-end cabin solutions, advance technical capabilities and create sustainable value and shared growth for our customers and both organisations.”
