Satellite networking company, Gilat Satellite Networks, has announced that it has received US$43 million worth of additional orders for its Sidewinder electronically steered antenna (ESA) terminals from an unnamed “major in-flight connectivity service provider”.
Deliveries of the ESAs are planned over the next 18 months for both line-fits and retrofits.
Gilat says it is seeing continued demand for low-profile ESAs, and has observed a growing shift by satellite operators to antennas that can leverage advanced multi-orbit network architectures.
“These significant orders reflect the continued evolution of IFC networks toward high-performance, scalable, multi-orbit architectures,” said Mike Pigott, president of Gilat Stellar Blu. “Sidewinder was designed for this environment, enabling service providers to deliver reliable, high-quality connectivity across diverse routes and increasingly complex network requirements.”
