Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has launched a cabin upgrade and refresh programme for the Airbus ACJ318 Elite aircraft, the smallest VIP model in the A320 family. Lufthansa Technik’s VIP Centre of Excellence in Hamburg, Germany can now certify and deliver various modifications that update the aircraft’s millennium-era interiors to today’s standards.
LHT has experience with the ACJ318 Elite, as the original VIP cabins were exclusively designed and fitted by Lufthansa Technik between 2007 and 2015. That A320 fuselage diameter enabled a spacious cabin interior with areas for dining, lounging and offices, as well as amenities like a private lavatory and bedroom.
While the Elite’s basic floor plan and cabin monuments were largely standardised to a 19-passenger layout, customers could choose from a variety of high-quality cabin materials. However, tastes and needs change, as does technology, and many ACJ318 Elite customers (of which there are 18 across Asia, Europe and the Middle East) may wish to update their cabins.
Options for modernisation include trim and finish updates for areas such as wood veneers, carpets and upholstery. LHT can also replace the entire in-flight entertainment (IFE) with high-definition displays, upgraded speakers and modern cabin management systems.
The in-flight connectivity (IFC) equipment can also be upgraded with the installation of ACJ Connect Link, a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) SatCom system developed by Airbus Corporate Jets, which leverages Gogo Galileo’s Full Duplex terminal.
